| KDX200 |
 |
| The
KDX200 has always been famous for the smooth power delivery
generated by the 198cc liquid-cooled two-stroke engine featuring
the Kawasaki Integrated Power Valve System (KIPS) that helps
spread the power over a wide rpm range. A high tensile steel
perimeter frame is based on the design of Kawasakis championship-winning
KX motocross models, and a 26.5° steering angle and short
wheelbase contribute to the quick handling characteristics that
make the KDX200 nimble on the trail. Advanced suspension components
give the KDX200 a smooth ride over a variety of terrain. |

| The
Kawasaki KDX220R takes the legendary design of the KDX200 and
bumps up displacement to offer 250cc-like response from the
two-stroke engine in a smaller, more nimble package. Tuned for
more torque, the KDX220R is designed for tighter, lower-speed
riding environments like tight woods that place a premium on
low-end power and nimble handling. |

| KLX300R |
 |
| The
Kawasaki KLX300R combines tractable four-stroke power with the
kind of nimble maneuverability usually found only in a two-stroke
motocrosser to make this machine a top choice among off-road
competitors and recreational riders. Designed to be ultra-compact,
the liquid-cooled 292cc engine features dual overhead cams activating
four valves atop an Electrofusion-coated aluminum cylinder,
which dissipates heat more efficiently and is wear resistant.
The engine is wrapped in a high-tensile steel perimeter frame
based on the design of Kawasakis championship-winning
KX motocross models. A 26.5° steering angle and short wheelbase
contribute to quick handling characteristics that had Dirt Rider
magazine proclaiming the KLX300R as "perhaps the best steering
bike on the planet. |

| With
a seat height of 28 inches, the KX60 is tailored for smaller
riders just entering the sport. The works-type seat extends
far up the fuel tank so the rider can slide forward to reach
the handlebars easily and get better front-wheel traction for
aggressive cornering. The KX60 features a liquid-cooled 60cc
two-stroke engine mated to a six-speed transmission through
a manual clutch. Long-travel suspension smoothes the ride over
todays motocross courses. |

| KX65 |
 |
| At
the heart of the KX65 is a liquid-cooled, high-performance two-stroke
engine that has a 1.5mm larger bore than the KX60. A lightweight
and strong piston resides in the Electrofusion-coated cylinder
that is bolted directly to the crankcase like those on the larger
KXs for increased durability. The cylinder is positioned to
accommodate a centrally located exhaust port and lowboy
design exhaust pipe. This allows the pipe to be tucked in further
to prevent contact with the riders leg. To help make shifting
the six-speed transmission quick, easy and smooth, the clutch
actuating mechanism and the shift drum ride on needle bearings.
The light clutch and shifting operation are ideal for youngsters
moving up from smaller, clutchless machines. |

| For
years the Kawasaki KX80 has provided a competitive advantage
for younger riders on their way up the motocross ladder. In
2001 this venerable mini moto machine becomes the KX85 with
increased displacement and other engine changes that increase
power more than 10 percent over the previous model. Plus new
bodywork and styling bring the KX85 even closer in line with
its full-sized KX125 and KX250 siblings. |

| The
KX100 is powered by a liquid-cooled two-stroke engine very similar
to the one found in the KX85, but displacement is increased
from 85cc to 99cc with a larger bore. To increase power theres
a new 28mm carburetor thats 2mm larger than the previous
unit and has a crescent slide to position the needle closer
to the intake ports. A new left-side shroud gives the KX100
an even closer resemblance to its larger KX siblings and helps
cool the ignition and engine, while the single radiator is still
fitted to the right side. Adjustable long-travel suspension
at both ends smoothes the roughest motocross courses. |

| Engine
performance rules the 125 class, and the 2001 KX125s high-performance
liquid cooled two-stroke powerplant has been reworked from top
to bottom. A new cylinder head reshapes the combustion chamber
to boost compression for harder-hitting power throughout the
rev range. A new piston complements the reshaped head and now
has closer tolerances to the Electrofusion-plated cylinder due
to improved production methods. New cylinder porting is designed
to improve low-end and over-rev performance characteristics
while maintaining a smooth powerband. |

| KX250 |
 |
| Featuring
one of the broadest powerbands in the class, Kawasaki focused
on increasing the already-potent low-end power while improving
response throughout the rev range and enhancing over-rev characteristics.
The Electrofusion plated cylinder has revised porting. Narrower
intake sub-ports increase intake velocity through the new carbon
fiber reed valves to improv low-end and mid-range power. More
peak power and over-rev capability has been obtained by flattening
the top edge of the exhaust port to increase the effective port
area. The stroke of the main Kawasaki Integrated Powervalve
System (KIPS) valve has a shorter stroke so that it opens quicker
to improve mid-range power. A new exhaust pipe and shorter muffler
complement the cylinder porting to boost top-end performance. |
